Breeding pigs in Nepal

At the beginning of the project in the cooperative in Sirsia started to run a piggery to generate income for their members. In addition most of the villagers breed some pigs on their farms, in 2015 87 families received a pig as a loan whereas 25% of the amount was given as subsidy. In the same year more than 2.800 pigs were treated by the para-veterinarians showing the importance of pig farming in the region.
